Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the College PBP mobile app ("College PBP", "we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use the app. We built College PBP to show college sports scores, play-by-play, standings, rankings, and news. We aim to collect as little personal information as possible.

Information We Collect

• Anonymous device identifier. The app generates a random identifier for your device. It is not linked to your name, email address, or any other personal information, and we use it only to keep your favorites, picks, and notification settings associated with your device.
• Favorite teams. When you favorite a team, that choice is saved locally on your device, and may also be stored on our servers under your anonymous device identifier so we can send you the score alerts you request.
• Username (optional). The app does not require an account, email address, or password. If you use the picks feature, you may choose a username, which is stored on our servers with your anonymous device identifier and shown publicly on the picks leaderboard. Please do not use your real name or other personal information as your username.
• Your picks. If you use the picks feature, your picks are stored on our servers under your anonymous device identifier so we can show your history and leaderboard standing.
• Notification tokens. If you enable score alerts, we store a push notification token for your device, associated with your anonymous device identifier, so we can deliver the notifications you requested.
• Technical logs. Our servers keep basic request logs (such as which sports data was requested and timestamps) to operate and troubleshoot the service. Advertising-related data collection is described in the "Advertising (Google AdMob)" section below.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

College PBP displays ads served by Google AdMob, an advertising service provided by Google. When ads are shown, Google and its advertising partners may collect certain information from your device, including:

• Your device's advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, Advertising ID on Android)
• Approximate location (derived from your IP address)
• Usage data, such as ad interactions and app usage information
• Device information, such as model and operating system

Depending on your device settings and consent choices, ads may be personalized (based on your interests and activity) or non-personalized (based only on context such as your general location and the current app content).

Opting out of personalized ads. You can limit or reset ad personalization in your device settings: on iOS, go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking (and Apple Advertising); on Android, go to Settings → Google → Ads.

iOS App Tracking Transparency. On iOS, the app will ask for your permission before tracking your activity across other companies' apps and websites. If you decline, your device's advertising identifier will not be shared for tracking, and any ads shown will be non-personalized.

Analytics

We collect anonymous usage statistics — such as which screens are viewed, which sports and teams are popular, and general device type — to understand how the app is used and to improve it. This data is stored on our servers for up to 90 days and may also be processed by Google Analytics on our behalf. Analytics data is not used to identify individual users.

How We Use Information

• To provide core app features such as scores, standings, and picks.
• To keep your favorites and picks available to you.
• To maintain, secure, and improve the app.

Third-Party Services

• ESPN. Sports data (scores, schedules, standings, rankings, news, and play-by-play) is retrieved from ESPN's public API. We do not send your personal information to ESPN.
• Google AdMob. Ads in the app are served by Google AdMob, as described in the "Advertising (Google AdMob)" section above.
• Google Analytics. Anonymous usage statistics may be processed by Google Analytics, as described in the "Analytics" section above.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share information with the service providers above as needed to operate the app, or when required by law. In addition, when ads are displayed, Google and its advertising partners receive the data described in the "Advertising (Google AdMob)" section above.

Data Retention & Deletion

Favorites stored on your device remain until you remove them or uninstall the app; removing the app from your device deletes locally stored data. Data stored on our servers under your anonymous device identifier — including synced favorites, your username, your picks, and notification tokens — is retained until you delete it. You can remove synced favorites by un-favoriting teams, and you may request deletion of your username, picks, and all other server-stored data associated with your device by contacting us at the email below.

Children's Privacy

College PBP is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
